Transtech 15
The theme of TRANSTECH 2015 was Sustainable Innovations for Enhancing Industrial Growth with 7 sub themes. This was well received by the student community across the country. We had a wonderful response to this event in terms of papers and models. We received 27 full length papers out of which 18 papers were selected after technical review and moderation. All the selected papers were presented during the event. We also received 13 entries for models, out of which 11 have exhibited their talents. In all 10 different institutions participated in Transtech 15. The numbers of delegates registered for the event were over 65 in addition to the large number of invited guests, faculties and students volunteers.
A wonderful Transtech video made by enthusiastic cadets of TMI set the ball rolling. Principal Dr BK Saxena, welcomed the dignitaries and emphasized on need of learning beyond classrooms, Prof. Arun Mahajan, Organizing Secretary presented curtain raiser for the event. Mr Anant Sahasrabuddhe, President of IMEI, Pune branch stressed on the importance of such events in overall personality development of a student and their association with TMI. The opening session witnessed the insight of new product cum technology developed for handing waste fuel oil recovery.
Mr. Amit Khare, Business Leader, Marine Products, Alfa Laval Pune presented the solution developed by his organization.
The Chief Guest, Commodore G Srinivasan, Commanding Officer, INS Shivaji, Lonavla, delivered inspirational talk to the young minds. He inspired the audience by telling about small and big innovations which changed the world. He took us to the world of futuristic innovations as well. The talk was very appropriate to the theme of event and budding engineers.
The evening of first day witnessed stunning vocal performance by Prof Sandip Deshmukh under the aegis of SPIC MACAY. He demonstrated many innovative masterpieces through his classical vocal concert.
On the second day, Capt. Mukesh Gautama, Managing Director, Wilson Surveyors and Adjusters Pvt. Ltd, Mumbai, spoke on the history of Lloyds Register and presented a wide range of services needed for the industry. He answered several queries of the participants as well.
Capt. Michael Demenezes, General Manager NYK Ship Management Pvt. Ltd. Mumbai was the Guest for the Valedictory function on 28th Feb.
The day also marked good talks on inland water ways and design of ferries by our own faculty colleagues Capt . Manoj Hirkane and Mr. Sudhir Sindagi.
